The world’s most expensive taco was sold earlier this month at the Grand Velas Los Cabos resort. This pricey taco was being offered at the resorts fine-dining restaurant, Frida. What was the price tag for this unique taco? It was originally being sold for $25,000. This ultimate taco was eventually donated as a raffle item for a charity event since it never sold off the menu. In order to incentive generous attendees the resort stated that the winner of the exclusive taco would also receive their signature tacos along with a shot of Tequila Ley .925 tequila poured from Ley’s $3.5 million Ley Diamante bottle.
At the end of the evening, the world’s most expensive taco along with the shot of Tequila Ley was able to generate $27,960 for the Los Cabos Children’s Foundation. The charity centers around oncology, cardiology and pediatric intensive care for children. Two security guards along with the restaurants chef Juan Licerio had to escort the tequila and the expensive taco to the hands of the winner. The lucky winner ultimately gave the taco to two guests that were present at the charity event. When one of the guests was asked how it tasted she said that it was “totally delicious.”
